If you work at a nonprofit organization or church, chances are you’re creating a lot of weekly and monthly content such as newsletters, bulletins, social media posts, event flyers, email announcements, and everything in between. And often, you might be the only person handling this work, or you may be part of a small team of dedicated volunteers who already have a lot on their plates.

Because I know first-hand what this is like and how it affects small organizations, I want to share this resource with you. Canva for Nonprofits is an incredibly helpful tool and I always recommend it to my clients and teammates.

What Is Canva for Nonprofits?

Canva for Nonprofits gives eligible nonprofit organizations and churches free access to Canva Pro, which is the paid version of the platform. This includes all of Canva Pro’s premium features, the ability to collaborate on projects with up to 50 team members, and access to more than 100 million premium stock images, videos, fonts, templates, and design tools. Helpful features like Magic Resize, brand kits, and more are also included.

The best part is, you don’t need design experience to use it!

How Do I Sign Up for Canva for Nonprofits?

If you’re interested in applying, start by creating a free Canva account using your nonprofit or church email address. From there, you can apply through Canva’s nonprofit program page.

You’ll be asked to upload official documents to verify your organization’s nonprofit or tax-exempt status. Once your application is submitted, Canva will review it and follow up with you.

Pro tip: If you don’t get approved the first time, don’t worry; try again! Make sure you’re submitting the exact documents Canva requests and resubmit your information. Many organizations find that this does the trick.

How Canva for Nonprofits Can Help Your Organization

Canva Pro can save you time and reduce some of the stress that comes with creating content on a regular basis. It’s also especially helpful during busy seasons like holidays, special events, fundraising campaigns, or any time you’re producing more content than usual. And, it can help you produce content that is polished, consistent, and professional, so your visuals reflect the credibility and care behind your mission.
